Our Story
Originally from tornado ally, USA, exploring mountains and forests just wasn’t a part of growing up. I went to fields and ponds, people’s houses, restaurants, or some grand warehouse for an indoor event because it was just too hot. Not to say I didn’t have my fill of outdoor activities, it's just that they were only enjoyable about a month or so out of the year and severely lacked scenery. I always knew something felt off, I just didn’t quite know what it was. You know that movie, “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” with Ben Stiller? Well, life kind of felt like that movie. Daydreaming of adventure, exploration, connection with nature, you know, really experiencing life.
Having dipped my toes with a couple of Colorado vacations, but never really feeling at home there, I decided to go somewhere new. My first visit to the Pacific Northwest, Olympic National Park, changed my life. All of a sudden the landscape had character to it. Sides of the road lined with more greenery than I had seen in a year's time. Clouds hugged the terrain like familiar friends. Rich and crisp air filled each breath. I’d fallen in love. In an instant, a place I’d only just seen, felt more familiar than anywhere I had called home before. I knew what had to be done at that point.
Not too long after that trip, my partner and I packed up our house, sold half of our belongings, got our animals ready, and moved halfway across the country. It was an easy decision, but it was not an easy process let me tell you. A lot of time, money, and tears later, we found ourselves starting a new life in Washington State with all new people and places to explore.
So here we are now, doing exactly what we set out to do, exploring the rugged mountains and forests of the Pacific Northwest together. Through this ongoing journey, I create digital art inspired by the places I visit, carve landscape prints by hand, and write immersive short stories that make you feel like you’re exploring them for yourself.
Come along and take the scenic route.
